WORKSHOPS, CLASSES and CAMPS

Improv Story Theatre
This performance-based class begins with vocal and body warm-ups, and improvisational theatre games to build confidence, stretch imaginations, build storytelling skills, explore play and dramatic expression, and enhance speaking skills. Then, through the art of Improv Story Theatre, students will work as a group to re-enact stories utilizing improvisation, comprehension, and listening skills. This class is performance-based and provides an opportunity for creative kids to learn about ensemble performance, improvised acting, storytelling, and performance skills. Our final class and production day will give the students an opportunity to perform for friends and family.

Telling Tales Together
A program for kids and their parents or other family members. Tell tales and sing songs together as a family. Learn the old tradition of sharing stories and songs with one another. Walk away with a collection of tales and songs that can be performed and handed down for generations.

SKITS: Storytelling, Kids, Improv, Theatre & Song
This camp is a great opportunity to invest your creative side into the world of Theatre, Storytelling and Song. We'll discuss how to make a story your own, talk about performance styles and techniques, learn a few fun and easy tales, and play some storytelling/theatre and performance games. We'll also work on vocal techniques and discover some fun songs and rhythms. With their wonderful and versatile imaginations, students will recreate their version of a story, and learn a few amusing songs that they will treasure for a lifetime. The program ends with a final performance for friends and family.

ACT: Art of Creative Telling
The perfect workshop for parents, librarians, teachers, professionals or performers. This introduction to the world of storytelling will enhance your storytelling skills, improve your public speaking abilities, introduce you to a new medium of dramatic expression, and provide you with a wealth of ideas and resources. This workshop is appropriate for the beginner or amateur storyteller.

CAST: Crafts, Arts & Storytelling Theatre
This performance-based arts & crafts camp will teach your child how to tell a story as a solo performer, tell a story as part of a theatre group, and create arts & crafts that relate to storytelling theatre using a variety of creative materials. Story-sticks, drawing, character painting & collage will be included. The day begins with vocal and body warm-ups, songs and improvisational theatre games. Students will also work together as peer coaches to help build confidence and learn their chosen stories. The mission of this camp is to foster team-building, comprehension & listening skills, stretch imaginations, build artistic, performance & speaking skills, and explore play and dramatic expression. The program ends with a final performance for friends and family during the last portion of camp on Friday.

Clap It, Tap It, Sing It
Music workshop for adults or kids. This is a great workshop if you'd like to learn some fun and simple participation songs. This workshop teaches lively rhythm tunes for (and to share with) the young at heart. The only musical instruments needed are hands for clapping, fingers for snapping, feet for tapping, and legs for slapping. Oh yes, and bring your voice for singing. Any old voice will do!!
